We offer private lessons to accommodate a variety of student needs. We have programs for: students interested in technical proficiency and performance; students who simply want to enjoy and appreciate music; and those students who want to deepen their love for playing and composing music. Our private lessons focus on accommodating individual needs and expectations. The pace of lessons is driven by the student’s ability and desire to learn.

Typical lesson duration is 30 minutes but 45 minutes to one hour lessons can be requested. Lessons are once per week, suited to meet the needs of grade or level requirement.

Each child is matched to an appropriate instructor to ensure that their first musical experience    will be enjoyable.

Motivation is a key issue not only in performing but in studying or practicing music, as well. When students frequently put off studying or practicing they may be labeled as being lazy or being underachievers. The problem however, may not be laziness or underachieving but rather the lack of an effective self-motivating approach. Parents should help their children see if they are results-oriented or process-oriented? Are their goals realistic and flexible? Is your child’s motivation punishment-based or reward-based? Is your child over motivated in some other areas and thus causing an imbalance?
